Meet Sylvan Esso.
The Durham, North Carolina-based electronica duo was started by two folk artists, singer Amelia Randall Meath and musician Nicholas Sanborn.

The duo’s sharp song about cat-calling, “Hey Mami,” is basically impossible not to clap and sing along to.
Now, Sylvan Esso’s friends in the band Landlady have remixed the song. Their version is funky and horn-heavy:
“We play in bands and write songs because of a love for each other, a commitment to making sound together and doing the impossible to make people feel unusual,” said Landlady's Adam Schatz of the remix, “Sylvan Esso asked me to do a horn arrangement of their song 'Hey Mami,' a song they knew I really enjoyed and I dove in head first.”
“It's easy when talking about electronic music to get wrapped up in the presentation of an idea rather than the idea itself,” said Sylvan Esso of wanting a horn version of “Hey Mami.”
“For us it's really rewarding when we have the opportunity to show people that these are still just songs, no matter how you play them.”
